Chaiden Duitscher is excited to have the opportunity to serve as the GPS dairy Intern for the Summer of 2023!
He is a May 2023 graduate of Iowa State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science with a minor in Agronomy. He will be continuing his education this fall at Iowa State where he will begin Veterinary School. Chaiden got started in the dairy industry on his family’s dairy farm in Rolfe, IA, about an hour south of Fairmont, MN. He has always been involved in many capacities on the farm but started to appreciate the industry more as he better understood it later in High School and at Iowa State. Chaiden strived to make the most of his time at Iowa State by being heavily involved in Dairy Challenge, Dairy Nutrition Research, and by being active in the Dairy Science Club. He also had the opportunity to spend a summer at Riverview’s District 45 location in Morris, MN during the summer of 2020 and has spent the past two summers working on several projects on his family’s farm as well as spending time shadowing veterinarians.

“So what’s the perfect feed-center?” This is the question I have gotten all summer long as I introduce my project to the farms I have visited during my internship with GPS Dairy Consulting, LLC. The first step in improving feed centers is to evaluate what we have and what opportunities exist to help improve efficiency. Knowing opportunities then allows us to set goals for how to improve.
